How many times have you heard that? I hear it almost all the time!! I mean seriously, why would anybody say something like that?! It's acutually become synonyms with 'bye' ..like byetakecare P (Bye-take-care) pronouncation key. That actually pisses me. No really. When people say take care they don't really mean take care. They just say it because it's there for them to say it.
I've probably said take care to a couple of people a coupla times. Like if em talking to a family member and I tell them take good care of yourself, or if some's sick or if someone I really care for someone and want them to take care of themselves. Someone I'd worry if for if they didn't take care or something happened to them. Period.

Totally got it. What about " How are you?" I have on occasions answered it by saying 'My dog died' but the questionner used to say 'thats great' and proceed with the conversation..I call these statements waiter conversation, You know they are there but noone notices them. Wierd, eh?
right that too! It just makes me NOT want to talk to people for the same reason.
I totally agree with you- A lot of people say this when u chat with them ol... Its not even 'take care'. Its tc gn sd ttyl (take care, good night, sweet dreams, talk to u later) Come on, make some effort!!
It really bugs me when ppl say these things without the slightest bit of sincerity. So I'm rite there with you on this!
