Try Try..

In school we’ve all heard the story of the King who fled from a war he was fighting because he was loosing all his men and soon he knew it was going to be his turn. As he hid in a well, he noticed a spider inching its way up. After it reached a certain distance it would fall down. But the spider didn’t give up. It kept trying until it finally made it out off the well! The King was impressed and chose to learn his lesson – go out there give his best shot. Of course in the end he emerged victorious.

Moral of the story: Try! Try! Until you succeed.

So, here we take the moral and go hoppety-skippety-jumpety into the world believing that if I keep trying I will keep succeeding. Ok here’s the thing, there are some things that you do not try. It is just supposed to happen. Yes, lots of things happen. Your SO used to things just not going your way, that suddenly there is this ray of light that you are blinded by. You keep moving and you keep going higher and higher up the well that you are basking in the light. Ever SO cautious though. Being cautious prevents you from enjoying the light and then you think, I’m already on top so what’s the deal? I might as well let go of all fears of falling back down and spread my hands and enjoy it. You do and it does feel good like there can be noth..….. *whoooooooooooosh…..plomp*

Yes my friend your back to square one! You also realise that you might have broken something. Sooner or later you figure you indeed have!

So, there you are lying and trying to heal, but without medication and a broken leg how are you supposed to be back on your feet? But its nature and she’s the kindest. She takes a while but kind nevertheless. So, you begin the natural process of healing and one day you think you can still walk while you are healing; it’s not like your dead! So, you begin with this new hope that you will definitely avoid going on top and just keep ‘hanging’ out in the well. But no! There are other plans in store for you. You are meant to be on the top, that’s your place! Or so you begin to believe. And viola, there’s that ray of light to guide you again.

Once bitten twice shy? Well, shy maybe not, but cautious – yes! Does it help? Ha, you’d think! Eventually, you forget cautions and just remember, I’m trying again and I’m going to succeed this time. Ho ho HO. I don’t think so, says’ bad Karma’. So, your sliding back again and *plomP* *ouch*
Capital ‘P’ in the end because your hurt again and the first fall hasn’t yet healed completely.

What’s the deal really? The spider doesn’t want to try ever again and why can’t the light just stop being tempting?

Will the spider try again?
